My story

From the field to your business

Born in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, David migrated to Australia at the age of 12. Throughout his illustrious rugby league career, he participated in 172 games in the NRL and 58 games in the English Super League, retiring at the end of the 2022 NRL season.

An alumnus of the Gold Coast Titans, Brisbane Broncos, and Catalan Dragons, David also proudly represented Papua New Guinea on 15 occasions across three Rugby League World Cups.

A passionate, authentic, articulate, and proud Papua New Guinean, David is eager to contribute to the growth of community sporting programs in his homeland and explore additional avenues to make a positive impact.

Looking back

David spent the first twelve years of his life in a village called Tubusereia, half an hour’s drive along the eastern coast.

He credits his success in rugby league to the hard work he observed from his grandparents, his grandmother in particular. He would walk alongside her while she carried bilums of food on her head after a hard day’s work on the farm to provide for her family.

My grandson, focus on your education and be strong.

Inspiring others

To move forward

By looking back on his upbringing and long career in professional rugby league, David is eager to use his story and the lessons he has learnt to empower and inspire others to create a brighter future.

You get rewarded in public for the work you do in private.
